Had it hanging up for decor in my Kitchen. It's in great shape, got it a little less than a year ago.

I'd prefer a local sale, I know it's small but I don't have the time or care to mail it. I live in Henrietta, NY. I'll meet someone within a reasonable distance if I am not busy, prefer to meet at RIT.

I'll take $20 for it. I don't check this forum all that often so I'd prefer email or PM if you are interested.

I have a friend at work that is doing a bunch of ridiculous crap to his car (an old saturn, :bomb:). One of the things that he has just completed is converting it to E85. He says you need 35% larger injectors and that is it. The ECU and emissions will relearn everything else. I have heard mixed things about E85, though, such as it eats away at seals and raw aluminum parts. Has anybody on here toyed with the idea of converting for the extra power and cleaner engine internals benefit? I would like to learn more about E85 specific to Subarus. (and yes, I did see and read about the innovative tuning 10 second cars that are E85-tuned :driving:)

Phantom WRX Badge

I've been looking at ways to personalize my WRX. I was going to debadge a little, possibly just leave the SUBARU and WRX on the back or maybe just the WRX and get it done in black so it contrasts with the LR paint.

Then I was thinking about trying to do a phantom badge. Sometimes in commercials/magazine spreads they'll have a plate on the car with an identical paint so that you can see that it's there but it doesn't stand out. So I figured I could get touch up LR paint and maybe do some sort of clear coat and reapply the badge so that it's there, and you can see it up close but otherwise it blends in.

Anyways, the reason for my post, does anyone have some discarded badges I could do a test run on to see how it turns out before I debadge mine? Also any helpful info on the painting process and what adhesive I would use to put it back on (I'm assuming some 3M product).

If anyone doesn't like the idea or wants to talk about me copying someone then I'm glad you have enough free time to post on here, otherwise looking for any helpful replies. Thanks as always.

P2089, P2093, P0345, & P0340 CEL codes. The first 2 are oil control valve signal codes. The other 2 are cam position sensor codes. None of these were ever unplugged.

I was helping Sirrion (Rusty) do a compression test. Long story short, the shortblock has about 900 miles on it. It's been running great since the original start up. We were doing a compression test to make sure the rings were sealing properly before we gave it full boost.

After letting the car cool down for a few minutes, we pulled the coils out, then the plugs. We also pulled the fuel pump relay from under the passenger side dash to avoid flooding the motor. Nothing else was touched at all. After the compression test, we put everything back together then tried to start it. The car will turn over but not start. Those 4 codes were stored. It was my fault for not clearing any codes that may have been stored prior to starting the car. Even after clearing the codes, the 2 OCV codes come right on after the gauge needle sweep with a flashing cruise light & CEL. The other 2 cam codes only come on after trying to start it.

I really don't understand how pulling the coils & plugs could cause those sensors to fail. We went over a bunch of different threads on the web pertaining to this issue. Some people had luck with cleaning the grounds. We did that to no avail. Some people had luck with replacing the sensors, while others did not. I'm going to try to swap in new cam sensors tomorrow. As for the OCVs, I have no idea why they would throw a code. There's plenty of oil in there.

Any ideas?

Guys,

In the tradition of The 48hrs of Tristate, we usually mix up the trip every few years to keep it fresh. Well good news is that there was quite a bit of requests the past 2 years to put Buffalo/roch back into the mix.

This year the trip will be a bit longer than usual. Here is a rough sketch of the trip...

SOA->Cincinnati->SIA->Bufflo->Ithaca->Harriman, NY

I'm reaching out to you guys in Buffalo, because I'd like to do our annual raffle dinner party in the Buffalo/Rochester Area. This is a big party with an MC and so I'd like to see if anyone knows of or has a hookup with a place that could accomodate us. Probably will have 100-150 people, and would like a buffet or sitdown dinner. Attached ideally would be a bar/hotel.

Thanks in advance for your help and participation.
